How to make St. Pat's Day Special for very little money
My Mom was magical. Yes, she really was. When I was little she could make anything seem really special, even ordinary things. I remember one time, I was cleaning my playhouse outside in the backyard and I was sweeping and rearraging and the next thing I knew my Mom came out with a plate of the most beautiful crackers iced in pink frosting! It was well, magical. We stopped and had a few in the sunshine and even now I can feel how special that moment was. I miss her.
You can make St.Pat's Day special too, maybe even magical.
1. Make shammrock shaped pancakes, or if you are in a hurry, a shammrock shaped eggo will do.
2. Use or reuse old Valentines to make special notes for a lunchbox or backpack .
3. My Mom sent us all care packages in college, this year I'm sending green M&Ms!
4. Make shammrock shaped snacks, get out the cookie cutter and cut up cheese or cucumbers or fruit.
5. Write a note, tuck it in a backpack, lunchbox, under a pillow. Or I like the big one on the bedroom door! Sing an Irish song to wake up. I like the one: green alligators and long necked geese...
6. Balloons, very inexpensive if you just blow it up yourself. Lots of to play with too.
7. Snowman with a big green shammrock, or if the weather isn't cooperating take a spray bottle out in the yard and spray a shammrock or the outline and view from a window. Magical!
8. My personal favorite make cookies or cupcakes. I am a working Mom and I feel no shame in making the take and bake cookies or even the place and bake cookies. I have been known to purchase store bought cupcakes and decorate them myself with hearts or chocolate. Shh! Don't tell anyone...
9.I do enjoy a scavenger hunt, again this was one of my Moms favorites too. Hide chocolate in baggies and then make clues and then watch the fun! It does burn a little energy, maybe that was Moms idea...
10. Get a box of raisins and read a book ,eat a raisin, read a book, repeat.Have a wonderful Day!!
